Ventura County environmental and agricultural scientist who has spent his career studying the systems that sustain California's land — soil health, water flow, organic cycles, and the policy frameworks that govern them all. With a B.S. in Environmental Science, an A.S. in Agricultural Science, and applied expertise in GIS and field research, he brings scientific precision and deep regional knowledge to the challenges facing California's agricultural future. A U.S. Navy veteran and Camarillo native, Nick builds applied, place-based work that connects environmental science to real land outcomes. This site is a record of that work.

Forged at Sea

Nick Folino served in the United States Navy as a Quartermaster aboard the USS Porter (DDG-78), advancing his technical proficiency in oceanographic charting, navigation systems, and voyage planning. He managed vessel routing, optimized fuel consumption, and helped maintain constant mission readiness at sea. As the ship's Public Affairs Officer, he documented operations and led institutional communication while deployed with DESRON 60 in the Mediterranean and Black Sea. This chapter forged his discipline, precision, and ability to perform in high-responsibility environments.
